The Ioniq 5 carries its battery pack under the floor, on Hyundai’s 800-volt E-GMP platform, and it can take a 400-volt charger as well. It watches the road through Hyundai SmartSense: the forward camera at the top of the windshield, the front radar behind the lower fascia, corner radars in the rear bumper for blind-spot and cross-traffic alert, ultrasonic parking sensors in the bumpers, and — on the trims that carry Surround View and Blind-Spot View Monitor — cameras in the mirror housings and at the tailgate. A bumper cover, a mirror cap or a windshield is never only a panel on this car. The Model 3 and the Cybertruck this shop’s own reviewers name need that same high-voltage discipline — which is the competence behind this page, not an Ioniq 5 job we are claiming.
